What's Your Freecycle Treasure?

Have you found something amazing on a Freecycle group? What's the most unusual item you've given away? Take a picture and tell your story.

We're looking for inspiring Freecycle stories — add yours to the Freecycle Treasures group on Flickr. Share your story so people see how fun a Freecycle group can be. You're keeping good stuff out of the garbage, and that's good for the planet. Let everyone know!

Share a photo of your treasure:

  1. Join the Group: Tip: if you don't see this link you need to first sign-in to Flickr.

    First join the Freecycle Treasures group on Flickr.com. If you're not yet a Flickr user, you'll need to sign up, then return to the group to join. If you're a Yahoo! user you can use your Yahoo! ID.

  2. Upload your photo Tip: Look for the Upload Photos link under the You tab.

    Take a photo of what you got through a Freecycle group, and upload it to Flickr. Be sure to make the photo “public.”

    Title the photo with your name and hometown, tag it “freecycle”, and in the description, tell the story of how you got the stuff and why it's so cool. We want to know what makes this a real treasure!

  3. Add your photo to the group Tip: If you don't see the Freecycle Treasures Group link, you'll first need to join the group.

    Click the “Send to Group” button located above your photo. You'll see a list of groups that you belong to. Select the Freecycle Treasures group and click OK.
