I say vote for Green-Collar Jobs! Help connect people who most need the work to the work that most needs to be done: with good jobs installing solar panels, constructing green buildings, and making our world more energy and resource efficient! www.greenforall.org

Pretty weak effort... How about sunovens for Haiti, or Trees for Haiti, or Food security for Haiti.

It's the economy, stupid! We need jobs, & green jobs can't be sent offshore. Instead of bailing out the car companies, the govt should be putting that money into solar, wind, hydro-electric, & cellulostic biofuel companies. That'd create jobs for the future.

batty42boy. Don't count on the Government to do anything. They don't care about "clean renewable energy". They only care about re-taxable energy like...ummm... oil. Like cancer; the money is not in the cure, its in the treatment. I worked for a biomedical company that had the cure for lukemia, but they had to face 15-20yrs of FDA redtape. The owner of the company died, the rest is history! and that's all I can say.

Green jobs has to be the best way to rebot the economy and do our environmental part as well. The American Dream says work hard and you wil get rewarded, The Dream Reborn say,"work hard to help the people and the planet and youll see an even greater reward. Ergo a house, the wife and car that provides wealth and health so we can live long enough to enjoy it."

Jobs, Jobs and more GREEN Jobs. The US economy needs to be guided back into an industrial and service oriented job market. I think we all have had our fill of White Collar criminal activity, over the past 2-3 decades. The Bail-Out, is a Fail-Out. Green Jobs represents a pursuit that cannot be filled by off shore labor pools. Building the US economy on the basis of Renewable Green Energy will help to strengthen our future generations' employment opportunities. Right now, the baby boomer buisness owners, who helped to build the Solar and Renewable Industry from the 70's to present, are starting to retire from the Renewable Energy Industry in droves. They are leaving behind a vaccum of a lack of qualified design/build tradesmen and start up business people. I know, I have been working a solar biz in California since 1979, and the lack of trained qualified workers is known by all, presently operating a Renewable Solar Energy Company. The training should start in C.T.E. [Career Tech Ed.] and R.O.P. [Regional Occupation Program] curricula. We need to add Solar & Renewable Energy to the curriculum of the entire United States school system, as well as support the grass roots efforts of organizations such as the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Foundation. My Vote is for The Green Collar programs of the Ella Baker Foundation. allen@scholfieldsolar.com

This is exiting debate! Yes indeed! Let us Vote For The Green Jobs, and support Clean Energy promoters! Green Jobs provide positive livelihood as they reduce emission, they protect human health and conserve ecology! Green Jobs guarantee carbon reduction Green jobs mean sustainable planet. They mean clean energy. Green jobs are a learning process even to the kids who get involved in greenhouse gas control, as they learn through nature. The schoolyard projects connecting humans to nature....... Green jobs, Green Energy, means Clean Energy and emission cuts. Thanks to Yahoo, Congratulations to Ella Baker! Vote for Green Jobs with both hands up! Grace.

Safe drinking water: Install water pumps near schools in sub-Saharan Africa. These pumps will work as both water pumps and as merry-go-rounds for children. This one is highest priority

How fast our economy would recover if the renewable energy industry was given the help the auto industry has been given. Does our air actually have to become crunchy before the govt gets it? Write your state governor ! It'll have to be done at the more local level. The economy evolves around cheap energy - not cars that pollute. This is the Big 3's 3rd bailout - after decades of fighting the govt to keep from making more fuel efficient less polluting cars. Most of the workers make $25 - $30/hr plus $50/hr in benefits. The CEOS makes $20 million/yr. What BS for them to get any help.

seriously? this should be an SAT question.. there is only one right answer here people: Safe drinking water. Period. A hand-ful of people just died while I wrote this because of a lack of decent, clean drinking water. None of the other options had a life-or-death issue.. So sad that it was 4 out of 5 as "importance"
