  Well anybody who knows anything about lcd tv's knows this, For your panel to have its deepest black levels you turn the backlight off. The only reason to have the backlight on at all is if you have major natural light.I.E. alot of windows.By the way yeah we all want more energy efficency. How about getting rid of those SUV's.Lol.Then we will all be better off and plenty of extra power for those little things in life like our tv's.
