Fully dimmable CFLs are here

There are two reasons to not use compact fluorescent light bulbs. 1. Because you have dimmable switches in your house, and CFLs won't work properly. Or 2. You're a damned fool.

Well, now, you don't have any excuse at all. Both the U.S. and the U.K. now have fully dimmable CFL options available to consumers. These have all the advantages of regular CFLs. They use up to 80% less electricity, last ten times longer and can save up to $100 per bulb on your electric bills.

So for baby jesus' sake...if you've got dimmer switches, and are still wasting all kinds of juice...get some!

The dimmable bulbs were launched last night in the U.K. with an installation designed by Jason Burges. Check out the photos at Inhabitat.com.
